You use a sketch to create many building elements, such as mass, structural grid, site volume, user-defined footing, slabs, and walls.
With a valid Sketcher license, you can use Positioned Sketch
on the Building section of the action bar to launch Sketcher. Once in Sketcher, create your sketch, with the commands in the Sketch section of the action bar. By launching Sketcher, the system assumes you are sketching on the ground plane (X and Y plane of the active story) if the ground story is active or if there is no active story. When there is an active story, you sketch on the elevation plane, which is the horizontal plane at story elevation. The system lists the resulting sketch in the tree, in PartBody.
Once you have created a sketch, you can use the sketch to create a shape with a command from the Geometry section, for example, Pad. To create a shape with a sketch in GeometrySet, use instead a shape command from an app such as Part Design.
