Adding One or More Stories

You can use the Mass dialog box to add one or more stories above the current top story.

Before you begin: From the Building section of the action bar, click Deactivate Story .

Context: The Mass command sets the mass height based on the number of stories specified in the Mass dialog box even when you use the command to add more stories to the building.

  1. In the 3D area, double-click the mass that requires additional stories.

    Note: You can only increase the number of stories in one mass at a time even if two masses are attached.

  2. From the Mass dialog box, click Insert Story .

    Insert Story is a toggle. The system highlights the toggle to allow for an increase in the number of stories.

  3. Either:
    • In Number of Stories, change the value to the number of stories you want in the building.
    • Drag the height handle to the appropriate height for the additional stories.

    The system adjusts the mass height to accommodate the new entry in Number of Stories. Likewise, it adjusts the Number of Stories entry to accommodate an increase in the mass height.

  4. To remove the walls from the added mass, click Remove Walls .

    Remove Walls is a toggle. The system highlights the toggle when walls are removed.

  5. Click .

The building and the tree reflect the additional stories added in the Mass dialog box.
