Before you begin:

Create a mass.

Activate the story where you want to place the flooring.

To create a flooring from a profile sketch, create a closed profile sketch on the
active story.
You can use the Rectangle or Line command from the Building
section of the action bar. Or, you can use a command from the
Sketch section.

To create a flooring from an internal space, create or add a space.

From the Building section, click Flooring
.

In the Flooring dialog box, choose either:

To create a flooring from a sketch profile | - Select Profile
. - In the 3D area, click the profile sketch that is to serve as the basis for the flooring.
- From the dialog box, from the flooring location list, select one of the following:
- Added to create the flooring both inside and outside the building. - Interior to create the flooring only inside the building. -
- Exterior to create the flooring only outside the building.

To create a flooring from a space | - Select Space
. - In the 3D area, click a wall of the space requiring the flooring.

- To specify the sub-floor thickness:
- From dialog box, from the flooring option list, select Subfloor Thickness
. - In the 3D area, drag the Subfloor Thickness handle or enter the thickness in the value box.
- To specify the floor thickness:
- From the dialog box, from the flooring option list, select Floor Thickness
. - In the 3D area. drag the Floor Thickness handle or enter the thickness in the value box.

From the dialog box, click

The system creates the
flooring. For a flooring for a space, the system lists the flooring in the tree under the story where the space is located. For a flooring
based on a profile sketch, the system lists the flooring under the story where the profile
sketch is located.
