-
From the Building section of the action bar, click Ramps
.
- In the 3D area:
- Drag the ramp to the desired location.
- Use the Robot at the bottom of the ramp to position and align the ramp.
Note:
To increase visibility, zoom to the ramp.
- Use the Height, Horizontal Length handles to adjust the dimensions of the ramp. Alternatively, enter the values in the corresponding value box.
- In the Ramp dialog box, from the ramp option list, click Ramp Width .
- In the 3D area, drag the Width handle or enter the width in the corresponding value box.
- In the dialog box, in Thickness, enter the thickness of the ramp.
- In the Ramp dialog box, from the ramp option list, click Landing Depth .
- In the 3D area, drag the Start Landing Depth handle or enter the depth in the corresponding value box.
Both landings have equal depth by default. - To create unequal landings, in the dialog box, click the Unequal Landings check box.
The system displays End Landing Depth handle and value box in the 3D area.
- In the Ramp dialog box, from the ramp option list, click Transitions .
- In the dialog box, click the Include Transitions check box.
- In the 3D area, drag the Start Transition Depth handle or enter the depth in the corresponding value box.
The start and end transitions have equal lengths and percent of main slopes by default. - To create unequal transitions, in the dialog box, click the Unequal Transitions check box.
The system displays End Transitions Depth handle and value box in the 3D area. - In Start Percent of Main Slope, enter a value between 10 and 90. The value is the percent of main slope that the start transition uses.
For Unequal Transitions, the system also displays End Percent of Main Slope.
- To change the height of the start landing, in the Ramp dialog box, in Vertical Offset, enter a value.
Alternatively, from the 3D area, drag the W axis of the Robot to adjust the height of the start landing. - To create a downward sloping ramp, in the Ramp dialog box, click the Slope Downwards.
- To specify the slope of the ramp, in the Ramp dialog box, click the Specify Slope check box.
The system changes the Horizontal Length
Height
- To use ratios to specify slope:
- In Specify Slope By, select
Ratio.
Slope is specified by the ratio of rise to
run.
- In Rise, enter a value greater than
0.1.
- In Run, enter a value greater than
0.1.
- To use angle to specify slope:
- In Specify Slope By, select
Angle.
- In Angle, enter a value between 0.01
degrees and 89.99 degrees.
- To create a ramp between two reference planes:
- From the Ramp dialog box, click Height By Reference Planes .
- Click End Reference Plane, then select a reference plane from the 3D area or the tree.
The Start Reference Plane and End Reference Plane must both be parallel to the XY plane. - To change the height of the end landing, in the Ramp dialog box, in End Vertical Offset, enter a value.
- Click .
The system adds the ramp to the building. In the tree, the system lists the ramp under the active story or the
shell and core.
