Context Menus

Context menus provide convenient access to commands. To see the menus, right-click an object or item.

This page discusses:

Robot Commands

The Robot is available in the 3D design view only.

Activate Robot Copilot
Turns on the Robot Copilot. This command is selected by default.
Constrain U, V or W Axis
Moves the Robot on the constraint only.

To facilitate your actions, when constrained to a curve, only the main axis of the Robot is visible.

Note: Some deformations require you to constrain a Robot axis before performing the operation.
Disconnect and Orient Robot
Disconnects the Robot and lets you orient it independently of selected geometry, while keeping the selected geometry active.
Note: Once disconnected, the Robot is no longer orange, but gray.

You can also click the handle at the center of the Robot to disconnect it.

Reconnect Robot
Reconnects the Robot to selected geometry.

You can also click the handle at the center of the Robot to reconnect it.

Freeze Robot Position
Turns off the snap behavior of the Robot and lets you select geometry without having the Robot snap to it.
Change Robot Type
Restricts the number of Robot functions provided.
Create Mirror Plane
Creates a mirror plane in the same plane as the base of the Robot and lets you create and work on symmetrical geometry.

You can create up to three perpendicular planes.

Edit
Edits Robot parameters letting you manipulate objects precisely.

3D Design-Turntable Switch Commands

The 3D Design-Turntable switch is available in both the 3D design and turntable views.

In the 3D design view , you can customize the display of 3D bounding boxes and how boxes fit around geometry.

Create Fillet
From an advanced-type face, creates a fillet that has the same radius as adjacent constant-radius fillets. The advanced face (NURBS surface or lofted surface) must be bordered by and have tangent continuity with adjacent fillets, and all adjacent fillets must have the same radius.
To access this command, you must first select the Hide/Show Color-Coding for Surfaces contextual command.
This command is particularly useful when importing geometry from another app.
No boxes
Never shows bounding boxes.
No boxes on select, full boxes on explore
Shows no boxes when you select a part; shows the full set of bounding boxes when you explore the structure.
Movable set box on select, full boxes on explore
Shows a single bounding box when you select a part; shows the full set of bounding boxes when you explore the structure. This is the default option.
Full boxes on select and explore
Shows the full set of bounding boxes both when you select a part and when you explore the structure.
Orientate boxes to fit geometry
Orients box edges around the geometry. This is the default option.
Orientate boxes on XYZ
Orients box edges along XYZ axes.

In the turntable view , you can customize this view.

Orient objects on tables
Optimizes the arrangement of objects on turntables by taking their shape and natural orientation into account.
Size linearization factor
Controls the appearance of objects of different sizes. When the slider is set to 0, objects appear in their original sizes; when the slider is set to 1, all objects on turntables have the same size.
Tip: Controlling object appearance is particularly useful when there is a big difference in size between the various objects on turntables. Setting the slider to 1, for example, significantly improves the results of a zoom-in or out and the ease with which you perform drag-and-drop operations.

App-specific Search Results panel Commands

The Search Results panel is available in both the 3D design and turntable views.

Insert
Inserts the selected item into the current tab.
Alternatively, double-click to insert.
Smart Insert
Inserts the selected item into the current tab ready for you to place it. The item is attached to the pointer. Click to position it.
Alternatively, drag an item from the Search Results panel to the current tab.
