Creating a Baseline Approval

You can create a baseline approval only for parts. After you create a baseline or change an attribute or structure, you may need to select the Refresh DMR Baseline command in the toolbar to update the list in the Baseline Approvals tab.

You cannot create a new baseline if there is an existing DMR baseline with the same configuration or with the configuration, Both that is not approved.

Before you begin:
  • You must have a DAR license assigned to you.
  • You must have the Quality Manager role to create baselines.
  1. Open the baseline approval list for the part.
  2. With nothing selected in the list, click the Initialize Approval icon in the Approvals tab toolbar.
  3. In the Initialize... form, enter:

    FieldDescription
NameName of the DMR baseline. You can also select AutoName.
Note: The AutoName option names sequential baselines as DMRB-000001, DMRB-000002, and so on.

Description (optional)Description of the DMR baseline

To change a baseline after it is approved, you must create another baseline revision and repeat the approval process. See Revising Baselines.
