Viewing and Restoring Iterations

You can list the iterations of a representation (for example, a 3D shape, a drawing, or a 3D part), and restore one of them to restore its previous content and attribute values. You can also open an iteration to view its details, or compare it with another one before restoring it.

Iterations are automatically created every time the representation is saved.

  1. Select a representation and click the command.
The Iterations dialog box appears, with the number of available iterations at the top. The iterations are listed, and also displayed on a line above the list.

If you selected a 3D part or 3D shape, a preview of the iterations is displayed.

  2. Optional: To switch between views, click one of the following commands from the toolbar:
    • Sequential View : The iterations are displayed as successive sequences of equal size on the iteration line.
    • Timeline View : The iterations are displayed as successive sequences of different sizes on the iteration line, depending on their duration.
  3. To navigate between iterations, hover over the iteration line, and click the iteration of your choice.
  4. To open an iteration, select it from the list or the iteration line, and click Open Iteration .
The selected iteration opens in a new read-only tab. You can copy an element of an open iteration, like a piece of geometry, or view its attributes.
  5. To compare two iterations:
    1. Select the two iterations you want to compare.
The two previews are displayed side by side, and Open Iteration and Restore Iteration are disabled.
    2. To get a detailed geometric comparison of the two selected iterations, click Compare Iterations .
The Geometrical Comparison panel appears and displays the geometric differences between the two iterations.
  6. To restore an iteration, select it and click Restore Iteration .

Important: If the representation is edited but not saved, a dialog box asking you to confirm the operation appears. In that case, all the changes since you last saved the representation are discarded.

If the geometry is opened, it is immediately updated with the selected iteration. To show the attribute values of the restored iteration, you must refresh the tree.
