Contract Lifecycle

The Contract policy defines the lifecycle states of a contract and subcontracts.

Created

Contracts and subcontracts are created in the Created state. The Leader or owner of the contract can promote the contract to the Proposed state. The Issued By, Program, and Responsible Organization fields are required to promote the contract to the Proposed state.

Proposed

The contract is in work and being negotiated with the customer. The Leader or owner of the contract can promote the contract to the Active state. The Contract Award Date is required before you can promote to the Active state.

Active

The contract has been accepted and is now active and available for use. The three milestones associated with the contract dates (Contract Award Date, Contract Start Date, and Contract Finish Date) are created when the contract is promoted to the Active state. The Leader or owner of the contract can promote the contract to the Superseded state.

Superseded

A later revision of the contract is active. The Leader or owner of the contract can promote the contract to the Complete state.

Complete

The contract is complete and no longer available. The Leader or owner of the contract can promote the contract to the Archive state.

Archive

The Leader or owner of the contract can promote the contract to the Archived state.

Archived

The contract is no longer available.
