Control Account Lifecycle

The Control Account policy defines the lifecycle states of a control account. A control account tracks cost program costs and schedules.

Unopened

New control accounts are created in the Unopened state. The control account must be promoted to the Active state to be used. The Cost Analyst or the Cost Account Manager can promote the control account to the Active state.

Opened

The control account is opened and available to be used. When the control account is no longer being used, it can be promoted to the Closed state. The Cost Analyst or the Cost Account Manager can promote the control account to the Closed state.

Closed

Activity is complete and the control account is no longer available.
