Parameter Lifecycle

This lifecycle controls the states through which a parameter progresses as it is used in a requirement.

The Parameter lifecycle includes these states:

This page discusses:

Define

A parameter is created in the "Define" state. Only the user who created the parameter can modify or delete it in this state. Requirement Managers can connect it to requirements. The owner promotes the parameter to the "In Work" state when it is ready for it to be viewed by other users with the appropriate roles.

In Work

When the parameter is in the "In Work" state, only the user who created the parameter can promote, demote, modify, or delete it. Requirement Managers can connect it to requirements.

Validate

When the parameter is in the "Validate" state, only the user who created the parameter can promote, demote, modify, or delete it. Requirement Managers can connect it to requirements.

Released

When a requirement specification is in the "Released" state, its content is frozen. To make changes, the parameter must be revised by the Leader. Requirement Managers can connect it to requirements.

Obsolete

In the "Obsolete" state, the parameter is considered no longer usable and cannot be connected to any requirements. It is not possible to demote the parameter from the "Obsolete" state back to the "Released" state. The owner can delete the parameter in this state.
