Part Routing In Development Lifecycle

A Part Routing is an ordered list of child Work Centers that represent stations that a Part is routed through during manufacturing. Part Routings can be used in both the development (this lifecycle) or production (the Part Routing In Production lifecycle) processes.

Manufacturing Engineers and Senior Manufacturing Engineers maintain Part Routings; Design Engineers and Senior Design Engineers can view the details for Part Routings. The Part Routing In Development policy is used to develop the manufacturing process for a Part. A Part can have multiple Part Routings.

The Part Routing In Development lifecycle includes these states:

This page discusses:

Create

Manufacturing Engineer and Senior Manufacturing Engineer can create the Part Routing. Design Engineer and Senior Design Engineer can view, but cannot act on, the Part Routing.

Work Centers are added in this state, and any needed Reference Documents. When ready the Manufacturing Engineer or Senior Manufacturing Engineer promotes the Part Routing to the Peer Review state.

Peer Review

The Part Routing, and its Work Centers, are reviewed for process applicability. Changes can be made, such as adding or removing Work Centers and documents. When the reviews are complete, the Manufacturing Engineer or Senior Manufacturing

Complete

The Part Routing In Development can be used to create a Part Routing that uses the Part Routing in Production policy. The Manufacturing Engineer or Senior Manufacturing Engineer can click Set To Production on the Part Routing properties page.

Obsolete

The Part Routing is no longer applicable to a development process for a Part.
