Product Data Lifecycle

Product data represents parts, technical specifications or material objects. The below lifecycle states are specific to Formulation Part and Technical Specification. The lifecycle states change on the basis of policy phase of the object.

For other part types the lifecycle states are similar to the EC part policy. For more information, see Engineering BOM Management User's Guide : Content Lifecycles: Production Phase Lifecycle.

Preliminary

Before promoting a product data from the Preliminary state to the Review state, all the mandatory sections and tables should be entered.

Review

If the above mentioned criteria is met, the product data is promoted to the Review state.

Approved

With the completion of the product data's route, and product data is dependent on COs Route then product data can be promoted to the Approved state, otherwise product data will directly goes to Release state promoting CO to Release state.

Release

The product data goes to the Release state when all the routes associated with product data and CO gets approved.

Obsolete

The product data is made obsolete through CO or by releasing new revision of the of the product data. The connected organizations, PDF files are disconnected when the product data is made Obsolete.
