A regulatory category, such as medical devices, drugs, or food supplements, defines the type of regulations a specific regulatory agency uses.

Active

The Regulatory Administrator can demote the regulatory category to the Inactive state when it should no longer be used.

Inactive

The Regulatory Administrator creates the regulatory category in the Inactive state, configures it as necessary, then promotes it to the Active state when it is ready for use. The regulatory category cannot be used in the Inactive state.
