Simulation Process - Controlled Lifecycle

A simulation process is a process that validates, transforms, or complements a product definition. A simulation process consists of one or more simulation activities. The simulation process and simulation activities are used to collect and organize data and processes that reproduce the scenario you are trying to simulate. This lifecycle is used for simulation processes that require a formal review procedure.

For more details about working with simulations, see the SIMULIA Process Composer (Web) User's Guide.

The Simulation Process - Controlled lifecycle includes these states:

This page discusses:

Proposed

The Proposed state allows a controlled simulation process to be created before any content or functionality is added during the In Process state.

In Process (or In Work)

The controlled simulation process, and new versions of controlled simulation processes, are created in the In Process state and can be modified or deleted by the owner. This state represents the simulation process while it is being developed, and all members of the collaborative space can modify the simulation process.

Review

When thecontrolled simulation process is complete, it is promoted into the Review state. Access to the simulation process is read-only when it is being reviewed.

The Simulation Reviewer decides whether to accept or reject the simulation process or whether to demote the simulation process back to the In Process state. If they accept or reject the simulation process, their decision must be accompanied by a signature. Promoting the simulation process to the Obsolete state does not require a signature.

Accepted

The controlled simulation process is ready for execution by a Simulation Analyst. A Simulation Analyst with read access can revise the simulation process.

If a controlled simulation process is demoted from this state, all approvals made in the prior Review process are removed.

Rejected

A controlled simulation process has read-only access and cannot be modified in the Rejected state. If a controlled simulation process is demoted from this state, all approvals made in the prior Review process are removed.

Obsolete

The controlled simulation process is no longer used, is not expected to be executed, and must not be used in a collaborative space. The owner can delete the simulation process in the Obsolete state or create a new version of the simulation process.
