Create
A Work Center can be created independent of a Part Routing, or in the
context of a specific Part Routing and plant.
The Work Center can be added to a Part Routing, and Reference
Documents can be added to the Work Center.
The Work Center must be added as a proposed change to an ECO. When the
ECO is promoted to the Define Components state, the Work Center is promoted to
the Review state.
Review
When the ECO is promoted to the Design Work state, it creates a route
based on a reviewer list (a route template). Each person is assigned a review
task. The Work Center should be evaluated for completeness and appropriateness.
When all of the route tasks have been approved, the ECO is automatically
promoted to the Review state and the Work Center is promoted to the Approved
state. The ECO creates a route based on an approve list (a route template).
Each person is assigned an approval task.
Approved
When all tasks are approved, the ECO is promoted to the Released
state. The ECO does not promote the Work Center; the Manufacturing Engineer or
the Senior Manufacturing Engineer must manually promote the Work Center.
The Work Center must be promoted to the Release state before any Part
Routs that use it can be promoted from Approved to Released.
Released
The Manufacturing Engineer or Senior Manufacturing Engineer promotes
the Work Center to the Release state. It is then used as the basis for
manufacturing a Part.
Superseded
When a Work Center needs to be revised, an ECO is used for this
purpose. When the new revision reaches the Released state, the original Work
Center is automatically promoted to the Superseded state.
Obsolete
When a Work Center is no longer valid and will not be revised, a
Manufacturing Engineer or Senior Manufacturing Engineer can promote it to the
Obsolete state.
