About the Sheet Browser

This topic explains the concepts that you need to know before you start using the Sheet Browser.

The Sheet Browser is displayed by default for the first time a layout is viewed. It is docked at the top and cannot be moved. To hide the browser, select Sheet Browser from the View section of the action bar.

The Sheet Browser is an immersive panel that appears at the top. The browser contains:

  • The list of design sheets: Displays the names of sheets.
  • The list of detail sheets: Displays the names of sheets and also bears a distinguishable icon.
  • Set tab's minimum text width: Lets you customize the width for the sheet name tab. Right-click the sheet name tab, and select Set tab's minimum text width. In the Width box, enter the required value. By default, the value is 8.
Only one Sheet Browser is available per tab per app and its display state is saved as per the app. If several tabs are open at the same time, then several individual browsers are displayed for these tabs. Consider the following points:
  • When the Sheet Browser is displayed or hidden while being in a specific app, other tabs running that same app are not updated synchronously. They are updated the next time they are activated.
  • In the case of a product representation, if there are several layouts, the Sheet Browser automatically updates and displays the list of sheets contained in the current selected layout.
  • In the case of a 3D shape representation containing a layout, if the shape is activated (and not the layout), the Sheet Browser automatically displays the list of sheets contained in that layout.
