Creating a View From a 3D Plane, Face, or Sketch

View from Reference lets you create new design view from an existing 3D plane, a face, or a sketch.


Before you begin: Open a 3D shape representation containing a layout.
  1. Select the required option from the Tools Palette:

    Auxiliary View Creates an auxiliary view
    Section View Creates a section view
    Section Cut Creates a section cut
    Axonometric View Creates an axonometric view
  2. Select a plane from the tree or from the 3D area (the xy plane, for example).
  3. Click at the required location in the sheet to position the view.

    Important:

    When you select several planes, the View Creation dialog box appears for each selected plane.

  4. In the View Creation dialog box, enter the required parameters.

  5. Optional: Select the Isolated check box to create an isolated view.
  6. Optional: Select the Reverse view direction check box to reverse the view direction.
    Note: You can also isolate or reverse the view direction while changing the view support.
