Creating Dimensions between an Element and a View Axis

You can create dimensions between an element and a view axis (one of the two axes or the origin).

Before you begin:
  • Open a drawing representation containing geometry.
  • Go to Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Mechanical Systems > Drafting > General section, under View Axis Display, and select the Display in the current view check box to display the view axis.
  1. From the Annotation section of the action bar, click Dimensions .
  2. Click a first element in the view.


  3. Select one of the two view axes or the origin.


  4. Click anywhere in the drawing to validate the dimension creation.


    The dimension is created.
