Copying Table Content

You can copy the content from selected cells or from the whole table and paste it in another table. Copy-paste operation is possible from CATIA to an external app (for example, MS Word or MS Excel) and vice versa.

Before you begin: Open a view containing a table in edition mode.

Creating a Table
  1. Select the content to be copied and select Copy Plain Text to Clipboard on the context menu.

    Notes:
    • If the selected content has merged cells, they are considered as a single cell. The text inside these merged cells is processed as the text of the first cell and the rest of the cells are considered as empty.
    • Table or text properties such as font or border definition are not taken into account.

  2. Right-click the upper left corner of the table or the cell in which content is to be pasted and select Paste Plain Text from Clipboard.

    Notes:
    • Pasting process always starts from the upper left corner so the multiselection of the cells is not required.
    • If the table in which content is to be pasted has fewer rows or columns than required, extra rows or columns are added. The table cannot exceed 10000 cells.
    • If the table contains an attribute link or a link template, it is copied as a simple text. Images cannot be copied.
