BOM Format Properties

BOM Format lets you modify the bill of materials format.

Select the BOM Format tab to access properties.

Format

Type

The following options are available:

Summarized
Creates the bill of materials from the leaf level in the product structure.
Top Level
Creates the bill of materials from the top-level or first-level products that are right underneath the root product.
BOM Orientation

The following options are available:

Header on top
Creates the bill of materials in the usual order displaying the header row at the top and the item numbers from top to bottom.
Header at the bottom
Creates the bill of materials in the reverse order displaying the header row at the bottom and the item numbers from bottom to top.
No Value Label
Defines a label when no value is defined in the appropriate property field.
No Material Label

Defines a label when the material property is defined in the bill of materials with no information specified for it.

Notes:
  • The bill of materials displays the material defined only on the reference of the part (materials defined at instance level or within a body are not taken into account).
  • When a part does not contain any material, the bill of materials displays the appropriate flag that is defined in the standard definition.

Item Number Label Type

The following options are available:

Integer: 1,2,3...
Defines a numbering format for each line of the bill of materials with numbers.
Letters A,B,C...Z,AA,BB...
Defines a numbering format for each line of the bill of materials with letters.
Show Phantom Products

The following options are available:

No
Hides phantom products or unreal products in the bill of materials.
Yes
Shows phantom products or unreal products in the bill of materials.
Show Fake Parts

The following options are available:

  • No: Select this option to hide the fake parts in the bill of materials. This is the default option.
  • Yes: Select this option to show the fake parts in the bill of materials.
Display of Removed Products

The following options are available:

Keep a blank line
Displays blank lines in the bill of materials corresponding to the missing product.
Delete the line
Deletes lines in the bill of materials corresponding to missing products.
Important:

Lines are permanently deleted from the bill of materials and other options are disabled.

Strikethrough the line
Strikes through the lines in the bill of materials corresponding to the missing product.
Do not display product
Maintains the numbering of the items as it is, even if some products are removed.

In this case, the rows are removed.

Note: If you select another option from the Display of Removed Products list, the BOM is updated according to the selected option but the row cannot be recovered.
