GVS Properties

Select the GVS tab to access properties.

Important: These properties are only available on generative views, when generative view style functionality are activated (i.e. when the Disable generative view style usage check box is cleared in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Mechanical Systems > Drafting > Administration section, under Generative view style).
The GVS tab shows the generative view style which is applied to a single view or multiple selected views.

GVS Name
Displays the list of GVS (generative view styles) embedded in the view, as well as the generative view styles XML files available in your session.
When you right-click a view and select Properties, the associated generative view style of that view is displayed in the GVS tab.
  • You can select a different generative view style to associate with the selected view and click OK.
  • You can also select (No Style) and disassociate current generative view style from the selected view and click OK.
Important:

Once you assign a generative view style to a view, it is embedded in the drawing (if not already done). So, to benefit from the new parameters available in a later version of a generative view style, you need to update the embedded version with the latest version of the XML file.

In case of multiple selected views, the display of generative view style is dependent on the following cases:

  • Case 1: When one of the views is not generated using the generative view style, while the other is, then the Generative view style is unavailable and the status is also unavailable.
  • Case 2: When both the views are generated using different generative view styles, no status is displayed for any of the generative view styles in the list.

However, you can select a desired generative view style from the list and apply to both the views simultaneously.

  • Case 3: When both the views are generated using the same generative view style, then it shows the generative view style which is applied to the views.

However, you can select a different generative view style available from the list and apply to both the views simultaneously.

Status
Displays the status of the generative view style. A tick mark in the Status column indicates that the selected view has the current GVS embedded within it.
Override GVS Parameters
Lets you override the generative view style parameters of the selected view(s).
