Upgrade CATDrwStandard Files to the Latest XML Standard Files Using the Automatic Upgrade Tool

You can upgrade the CATDrwStandard files to the latest level. It means upgrading the standard files configured in releases up to and including V5R8.

  1. Open an MS-DOS Window.
  2. Change to the folder in which you installed the product. The default folder is install_root\win_b64\code\bin.
  3. Use the following commands to perform the required operations:
    • If you want to convert all CATDrwStandard files located in reffiles\Drafting to the current XML format, enter this command: 
      CATAnnStandardTools MIGRATE_ALL [dir]
      where [dir] is a directory in which you want to store the resulting XML files. Local directory is the default.
    • If you want to convert a single CATDrwStandard file located in reffiles\Drafting to the current XML format, enter this command:
      CATAnnStandardTools MIGRATE XXX [dir]

      where XXX is the name of the standard you want to convert (ISO, ANSI-ASME...) and [dir] is a directory in which you want to store the resulting XML file. Local directory is the default.

Upgrade XML Standard Files from Previous Releases to the Latest Level Using the Standard Automatic Upgrade Tool

You can upgrade XML standard files from previous releases to the latest level. It means upgrading the XML standard files configured in releases starting from V5R9.

  1. Open an MS-DOS Window.
  2. Change to the folder in which you installed the product. The default folder is install_root\win_b64\code\bin.
  3. Use the following commands to perform the required operations:
    • If you want to upgrade all XML files located in install_root\resources\standard\drafting to the current version, enter this command: 
      CATAnnStandardTools UPGRADE_ALL [dir]
      where [dir] is a directory in which you want to store the resulting XML files. Local directory is the default.
    • If you want to upgrade a single XML file to the current version, enter this command: 
      CATAnnStandardTools UPGRADE XXX [dir]

      where XXX is the name of the standard you want to convert (ISO, ANSI-ASME, MY_ISO...) and [dir] is a directory in which you want to store the resulting XML file. Local directory is the default.

      The batch first searches the standard file in the directory defined by the exported variable CATCollectionStandard (for example, set CATCollectionStandard=e:\tmp), and then, if not found, in the following directory: install_root\resources\standard\drafting.

Upgrade GVS Files from Previous Releases to the Latest Level

You can upgrade GVS files from previous releases to the latest level.

  1. Open an MS-DOS window.
  2. Change to the folder in which you installed the product. The default folder is install_root\win_b64\code\bin.
  3. Use the following commands to perform the required operations:
    • If you want to know the syntax or get help, enter this command: 
      CATDftGVSUpgrade -h
    • If you want to upgrade all GVS files located in install_root\resources\standard\generativeparameters to the current version, enter this command: 
      CATDftGVSUpgrade Upgrade_All <dir>
      where [dir] is a directory in which you want to store the resulting GVS files.
    • If you want to upgrade a single GVS file to the current version, enter this command: 
      CATDftGVSUpgrade Upgrade <XXX> <dir>

      where XXX is the name of the GVS file you want to upgrade and [dir] is a directory in which you want to store the resulting GVS file.

      The batch first searches the XXX GVS file in the directory defined by the exported variable CATCollectionStandard (for example, set CATCollectionStandard=e:\tmp), and then, if not found, in the following directory: install_root\resources\standard\generativeparameters.

Note: If there are spaces in the directory location, it must be entered in double quotation marks.
