Design Project Templates

This page lists design project templates that are used to create design projects.

To access this page:

  1. From the compass, select Social and Collaborative Apps .
  2. Click the role icon DHF based Project Manager.
  3. Click the Project and DHF Management app and then click the Design Templates tab.

Columns

Column NameDescription

Name

The name of the design project template; click to view the navigation pane and task page of the project template.

Type

 The type of template.

Revision

 The revision number of the template.

Estimated Duration

 The duration of the tasks. The system takes dependencies into account. For example, if a design project has 5 tasks with no dependencies then all the tasks can occur in parallel and the estimated duration is the estimated duration for the lengthiest task. If one task cannot occur until another task is complete, then the estimated duration for the design project must add the durations for these dependent tasks.

Owner

The Project Administrator responsible for managing the design project template. The originator is the owner of the template.
StatusActive or Inactive. Only active templates can be used to create new projects.

Clone/Copy

Creates a copy of the design project template.Creating or Copying a Project Template
Delete For the selected design project template, deletes it; click OK to confirm.

You can only delete a design project template when it meets all these conditions:

  • You created the template
  • The template was used to create only projects that you own or non-archive state projects for which you are a Project Lead
  • If projects are created from the template in an archive state, the template only be deleted if the archive projects are owned by the template owner

Deleting a design project template deletes all associated items, such as its tasks, bookmarks, and questions. Generally, you should delete a template only if you created it in error and it hasn't been used to create a project. If you no longer want a template to be used, promote it to Inactive.
