DHF View

You can view the content of a Design History File, which typically consists of the controlled bookmarks and documents. The content comprises Design Changes, Design Input, Design Output, Design Plan, Design Review, Design Transfer, Design Validation, and Design Verification.

Required access role: DHF based Project Manager.

You can expand and collapse the list of products, projects, bookmarks, and documents that appear in this view.

To access DHF view:

  1. On the Products page, select a product.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Design History File.
  3. Click the DHF tab.

Or

  1. In the Project and DHF Management app, in the navigation pane, click Project & DHF.
  2. Click the DHF tab.

The Summary view is also the Product DHF tab you see when you click Bookmarks In the navigation pane for a design project.

You can expand and collapse the object tree in the Name column. Products can expand to include projects and respective DHF-controlled bookmarks. Bookmark expansion further displays documents and files containing design history content.

Use the list box in the left corner of the toolbar to filter the object display. This filter is available only from the Project & DHF navigation, and not from the Products page.

  • All. Lists all products.
  • Owned. Lists only those products owned by the logged-in user.
  • Responsible For. Lists only those products for which the logged-in user is responsible.

Select the DHF View:

  • Detailed. Shows detailed information for the objects.
  • Summary. Shows the consolidated DHF bookmarks.

Detailed View

This view shows details for each Design History File object.

Column Name Description
Name The name of the product, project, bookmark, or document.
Indicates whether a higher revision exists for a controlled bookmark in the Release (frozen) state. The icon indicates that a higher revision does exist.
This column consists of two numbers expressed as m/n. "m" is the number of files locked/checked out; "n" is the number of files checked in.
DHF Element For a controlled bookmark, this is the DHF classification. Values are Design Changes, Design Input, Design Output, Design Plan, Design Review, Design Transfer, Design Validation, and Design Verification.
Action

For a controlled bookmark, possible actions are subscribe and download .

For a document, possible actions are view and download .

Depending on your access rights, these actions are also available: Viewer, Check out, Check in, Lock, Unlock, Subscriptions, and Upload.

The "#" icon indicates a governing project for the expanded product.

Type The type of object, for example, Hardware Product, Project Space, Controlled Bookmark, or Document.
Title The title of the object. For documents, this is the title text if entered during creation.
File Size For files only, this is the file size.
Rev The revision level for controlled bookmarks and documents.
Ver For document objects only, this is the version number for a single file. For multiple files, click the version icon to view the file versions.
Approvers A comma-separated list of approvers of the last finished approval route on the content lifecycle.
Related Items A comma-separated list of related Items against a document object.
Last Modified The date on which the object was last modified.
State The current lifecycle state of the object.
Owner The owner of the object.
Description The description of the object.

Summary View

This is the default view. In this view, when the product is expanded it shows the consolidated DHF bookmarks (such as Design input, Design Output, and Design Review). All the content of the different DHF bookmarks under different projects of a product are consolidated under the top level DHF bookmarks.

Column Name Description
Name The name of the product and DHF element classification (controlled bookmark) which contains related documents such as Design Changes and Design Input.
Indicates whether a higher revision of a document exists. The icon next to a document indicates that a higher revision does exist. The icon indicates that there is no higher revision.
Indicates whether the object is locked or unlocked.
Projects The projects to which the document is connected by a controlled bookmark.
Action

For a controlled bookmark, possible actions are Subscribe and Download.

For a document, possible actions are View and Download.
