Controls

This page lists the control objects that are related to the NC. In this page, you can verify, and complete them.

You can create controls for the selected impacted items from the Impacted Items tab.

To access this page:

  1. From the Nonconformances, click the name of the required NC.
  2. Click the Controls tab.

Columns

Column Name Description
Name Name of the control. Click to view its details.
State State of the control. Possible states are In Process, Review, Verified, and Complete.
Impacted items Name of the item for which the control is created.
Important: The user assigned with the Administrator role can configure a display value for the name of item. For more information, see Customizing NC Impacted Items.
Entry TypeEntry type of the control. Possible types are Bounding, Incident, and Pending Bounding.
Work Order #Assigned work order number.
Hold LocationThe physical location of the item reported in the control. Possible values are Distribution Center, Finished Goods, In Process, and Incoming Raw Materials.
TotalTotal quantity of the item in a batch.
SampleQuantity taken as sample for the quality check.
DefectiveQuantity of defective impacted items.
UOMUnit of measure of the quantity.
Defective %Percentage of defective impacted item with respect to the total quantity.
ProposedProposed method to dispose the defective impacted item.
InstructionsInstructions to dispose the defective impacted item.

Actions

Action DescriptionFor More Information
Submit To Review Promotes the selected control objects from the In Process state to the Review state.
Note: Ensure the following:
  • You must be a Quality Manager or the owner of the control with Quality Manager or Complaint Investigator role.
  • The selected controls must be in the In Process state.

Verify Verifies the information provided in the control and promotes it to the Verified state.
Note: Ensure the following:
  • You must be a Quality Manager or the owner of the control with Complaint Investigator role.
  • The selected controls must be in the Review state.
  • Provide necessary information in the Proposed Disposition and Rationale fields in the Control Properties page.

Complete Completes the selected control objects. When the review task for a control is approved, the control is automatically promoted to Complete.
Note: Ensure the following:
  • You must be a Quality Manager or the owner of the control with Complaint Investigator role.
  • The selected controls must be in the Verified state.
  • You must close controls of type Incident before you close controls of types Bounding and Pending Bounding.

Enable EditActivates edit mode in which you can modify the Entry Type, Work Order #, and the Hold Location columns. Click Save when done.--
DeleteDeletes the select control objects. Click OK to confirm. You cannot delete the last control( the only control) of an impacted item.
Note: Ensure the following:
  • You must be a Quality Manager or the owner of the control with NC user or Complaint Investigator role.
  • The selected controls must be in the In Process state.
