Creating a Nonconformance

You can create a nonconformance (NC) when an item, process, or procedure does not comply with the defined standards. You can also create a nonconformance from the selected issue.

  1. Perform any one of the following actions
    • From the top bar, select Add > Complaints & NonConformances > Create Nonconformance.
    • From the Nonconformances toolbar, click Create Nonconformance.
    • From the toolbar of Issue Properties page, click Create Nonconformance. For more information, see Issue Properties
    The Create NC page appears.
  2. Enter the following details.

    Field Name Description
    Type Click to select the type as nonconformance or its subtype. When you select the subtype, the custom attributes that are added to the selected subtype are listed in the Custom Attributes section of the page.

    Description (Expectations / Actuals) Describe the nonconformance.
    Note: By default, the description details are appeared from the context issue if you are creating a NC from the selected issue
    Category Select a nonconformance classification.
    NC Type Select the type of nonconformance detected.
    Severity Select a severity. You can select Urgent, High, Medium, or Low.
    Functional Area Select the functional area in the location or site where the nonconformance was detected. You can select Manufacturing, Field, Lab, Warehouse, or Shipping.
    Process The process during which the nonconformance was detected. You can select Product Scrap, Reposing, Isolation, or Product Realization.
    Impacted Items Click and from the Search Results page that appears, select an impacted item.
    Note: By default, the impacted items are selected from the context issue If you are creating a NC from the selected issue.
    Defect Type Select a defect type. You can select External or Internal.
    Site Found Click and from the Search Results page that appears, select the site or location where the nonconformance was detected.
    Name Click and from the Search Results page that appears, select the supplier that provided the material for the product.
    Lot Number Type the lot code assigned to the supplier for the material.
    Site Select the site of the supplier that provided the material for the product.
    Custom Attributes Type the additional information for the custom attributes that are selected as subtype of the nonconformance.

  3. Click Done.
    The NC is created.
