Regulatory Context Lifecycle

The regulatory context of a submission is a combination of the regulatory authority, submission type, and regulatory category.

Active

The Regulatory Administrator promotes the regulatory context to the Active state. The regulatory context can be used for submissions when it is in the Active state. It cannot be demoted to the Inactive state while it is in use by a submission.

Inactive

Once the Regulatory Administrator promotes the regulatory authority to the Active state (and the regulatory authority's associated submission types and regulatory categories are also in the Active state), Market Registration automatically creates a regulatory context for each possible combination of regulatory authority/submission type/regulatory context. The regulatory context is created in the Inactive state.
