Importing an Ambience

You can import Visual Experience Content Collection (VCC) ambiences provided in your database.

They contain different exterior and interior ambiences that you can use to enrich your rendering scene in terms of visual background and lighting. These ambiences are based on HDRi images.

Before you begin:
  • You need the Visual Experience Content Collection (VCC) role to access and author the content that comes with the role.
  • To select the installation path for your app content, access the Content preferences. By default, the content is installed in InstallContentPath/win_b64/startup/ambiences. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps Content.
  • These ambiences have an impact on the database size.
  1. From the Live Rendering section of the action bar, click Import Ambience .
  2. In the Import Ambiences dialog box, select an ambience.
  3. Click Import.
    The selected ambience is loaded in your database.
  4. In the Search box, search for the selected ambience.
    Tip: Select My Content in the Search options list to display your personal content only.
  5. From the search results, click , and then select Open.
    The ambience is displayed in the 3D area.

  6. Optional: To save a modified ambience, select Share > Save > Save with Options, select the ambience, and then click Save as New .
