Creating Equations

The Equations command lets you create non-oriented linear equation-driven dimensions based on existing 3D dimensions.

Before you begin: Add 3D dimensions.
  1. To populate the Equations panel, do the following:
    1. In the work area, select a 3D dimension to paste its name into the equation.

3D dimensions are identified by a letter and a unique number.

      • A for angle
      • D for distance
      • R for radius.

    2. In the panel, click the keypad buttons.
  2. Click Enter.
f(x) appears alongside the dimension to indicate that it is driven by an equation. 3D dimensions used in equations are automatically set to Driven Dimensions.
  3. To create another equation, click Add an Equation.
