Creating a Circular Pattern

You can create a pattern by duplicating a shape.

Patterns are recognized as such. All elements in a pattern are identical. You can edit both the pattern itself and its geometry. If a pattern cannot be created, multiple copies of the selected geometry or shape, for example a face, are made.

This task shows you how to create a circular pattern.

Define the spacing between the pattern elements. Note that you can also use the manipulators to define the spacing.
Determine the rotation axis:
  • by picking an axis in the geometry.
  • by selecting the alignment (X, Y, or Z).
  • by setting coordinates.
  • by setting the axis direction around U and V.
