Defining Check Specifications for Engineering Connections

You can define the check specifications for an engineering connection, which can be used as a specification to create a light interference simulation.

Before you begin: Open a product that contains an interference.

  1. Double-click the defined constraint in the tree.
The Engineering Connection Definition dialog box appears.
  2. In the Interferences tab, select among the following check specifications:

    • Default: Uses default check specification and generates the result with actual interferences by default.
    • Check: Sets the defined specification (No Clash, Clearance or Contact) for the interference and displays the result accordingly after computation. For example, if you set Contact for the interference having clash and compute the interference simulation selecting the Check Contact check box, results do not include that interference.
    • No check: Computes the interference simulation without considering the respective interferences.

Based on the check specification, the interferences are checked during simulation.
Note: The Clearance and No Clash checks between assemblies verify all engineering connections. Whereas the Contact check is available only for the engineering connections defined between parts.
  3. Repeat the above steps for all engineering connections and specify the required interference types to check during interference simulation.
