Generating a Change Action

You can generate a Change Action (CA) from an existing highlight.


Before you begin: Create and save a highlight.
  1. Optional: Select a member from the current community to assign a responsible for the change action.
  2. To generate a change action, do any of the following:
    • In the Review View, select the highlight thumbnail and click Generate Change Action .
    • In the tree, right-click the highlight and select Generate > Change Action.
  3. In the Generate Change Action dialog box,
    1. Enter a title and a description.

      The Title and Description boxes are prefilled with the name and description of the highlight. If the highlight has no description, the description is prefilled using the context of the review.

    2. Select a severity and a due date for the change action.

      The severity is set as per the severity of the highlight.

    3. Click Begin Work.
    The change action is generated and listed under the corresponding highlight node in the tree. It is generated with the following parameters preassigned:
    Parameter Preassigned Value
    Members: Assignees The following members are preselected as assignees:
    • The members selected while generating the change action.
    • Otherwise,
      • If the highlight is pointing to an interference, the owners of the interfering parts.
      • If the review has validated objects, their owners.
      • Otherwise, the owners of the review contexts.
    Proposed Changes The following objects are preselected:
    • Interfering parts, if the highlight is pointing to an interference.
    • Validated objects of the review, if the review has validated objects
    • Otherwise, the contexts of the review. If the review context is an interference simulation, the context of the simulation is selected.
    Referentials The highlight is preselected.
    Contexts The contexts of the review are preselected. If the review context is an interference simulation, the context of the simulation is selected.
