Duplicating Materials

You can duplicate a material in different ways.

A duplicate material contains all the domains from the original material, but not all of its attributes.

Duplicate with the Duplicate Command

You can duplicate materials from the action bar.

  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, click Duplicate materials .
  2. In the tree or in the Material Browser, select a material to duplicate.

The selected material is duplicated.

Duplicate from the Material Browser

You can duplicate materials from the Material Browser.

  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, click Material Browser .
  2. In the Material Browser, right-click on the material thumbnail then select Duplicate .

The selected material is duplicated in the Material Browser.
