Design changes that affect the manufacturing assembly involve parts deleted from an assembly or a modification to the product structure. Modifications include changes in the 3D representations, the addition of parts, or modifications of what constitutes a sub-assembly.
When the product design changes, the manufacturing
assembly often has to change as well. You can choose to view the impact of design changes,
and update the manufacturing assembly structure as required.
The following colors indicate synchronization states:
- Green: Manufacturing Assembly/Part synchronized with design
- Green indicates that the manufacturing assembly is synchronized with the current state of the
design's product status.
- Yellow: Manufacturing Assembly/Part not synchronized: removed product
- Parts highlighted in yellow are removed from the product structure.
- Orange: Manufacturing Assembly not synchronized: modified product structure
- When the parent manufacturing assembly is highlighted in orange, it or its children were
modified. This means that a part was added to the product structure, or that the
product structure was otherwise changed. The child parts are green (because the
color changes reflect changes to a product structure, not to the discrete parts),
although child sub-assemblies may also be orange.
An example of an unsynchronized assembly with a removed part appears below.

When you see that the manufacturing assembly has changed, you can choose to update the manufacturing assembly. After an update these colors appear:
- Pink: Manufacturing Assembly/Part added to Assembly Structure
- Parts added to the manufacturing assembly are pink.
- Blue: Manufacturing Assembly modified in Assembly Structure
- The parent assemblies of added parts (that is, those assemblies with modified structures)
appear in as blue.
These colors indicate the design impact if Design Change Impact is
selected.
After an update, a manufacturing assembly can have both a synchronized and modified status (that
is, green and blue). In this case, the modified status appears visually.
After the update of a child manufacturing assembly, a parent manufacturing assembly can have both
a non-synchronized and a modified status if there is still an unsynchronized child
manufacturing assembly. In this case, you are notified of the "not synchronized"
status.
