Grouping Manufactured Part to Manufacturing Assembly

You can group a manufactured part to a manufacturing assembly. This is done using the Group command that appears when you select a source part and a target assembly.

Before you begin: Add a non-empty product structure as input.

  1. Open your product data and start Assembly Definition.
    The manufacturing assembly appears at the center of a turntable.
  2. Expand the assembly down to the required level.
    Manufactured parts and manufacturing assemblies appear on the turntable of the sub-assembly.
  3. Select a manufactured part (source) that you want to group to a manufacturing assembly (target).
    The source manufactured part is highlighted.

  4. Press Ctrl and select the target manufacturing assembly.
  5. Select the Group command that appears next to the target assembly.


    A new manufacturing assembly comprising the selected manufactured part and manufacturing assembly is created on the turntable.
