Moving a Manufactured Part to a Manufacturing Assembly

You can move a manufactured part on to a manufacturing assembly, by dragging a source part to a target assembly. You can also use the drag function to move a manufacturing assembly on to another assembly.

Before you begin: Add a non-empty product structure as input.

  1. Open your product data and start Assembly Definition.
    The manufacturing assembly appears at the center of a turntable.
  2. Expand the manufacturing assembly down to the required level, and expand the target manufacturing assembly.


  3. Select a manufactured part (source) that you want to move to the target manufacturing assembly.

    The source manufactured part is highlighted.
  4. Drag the source manufactured part to the turntable of the target manufacturing assembly.


  5. In the same way, move other manufactured parts to the turntable of the target manufacturing assembly.


    The manufacturing assembly now comprises all the moved manufactured parts: you can view its 3D representation by moving the cursor over the center of the turntable.
