Configuring Eligible Applications for Compliance Definitions

You can configure compliance definitions that eligible applications apply to for Manufacturer Equivalent Parts (MEPs).

When Materials Compliance Management rolls up eligible applications from reported parts to parent reported parts, or enterprise parts to parent enterprise parts, this property ascertains whether applying the eligible applications as selected applications will change compliance from "No" to "Yes with Exemptions" for any of the configured set of compliance definitions. More than one compliance definition can be configured.

For example, if two MEPs are connected to a CEP and both are EU RoHS=No, and one references 7b as an eligible application and the other does not, then the one that does not reference 7b as an eligible application will be chosen as the worst case. Similarly, the MEP with an eligible application and compliance=No will be chosen as the best case over an MEP with compliance = No even if it does not reference an eligible application. An eligible application will only be rolled up to the CEP if the selected equivalent MEP also references the eligible application. If two MEPs are found that reference eligible applications and both have a compliance of No, then one is arbitrarily chosen as the worst case.

Configuring Properties
  1. Create or open the text file to contain customized properties. For more information, see Editing Properties Using MQL.
  2. To configure the eligible applications for compliance definitions, follow these steps:
    1. Add or edit this line in the file used to import properties into a page object:

      emxMaterialComplianceCentral.eligibleApplicationsComplianceDefinitions

    2. Set the value for this property depending on your business requirements. More than one compliance definition can be specified. For RoHS customers, this property should be set to the latest RoHS compliance definition.

      The value is a comma-separated list using this format:

      <Compliance Type of the Compliance Definition>:<Compliance Definition Name>

      For example:

      emxMaterialComplianceCentral.eligibleApplicationsComplianceDefinitions=RoHS:EU RoHS,RoHS:EU RoHS (2010-122/EU),RoHS:EU RoHS (2010-571/EU)

  3. When finished updating the text file with all properties you want to modify, including the ones shown here, use the text file to modify the emxMaterialsComplianceCentral.properties page object. For more information, see Editing Properties Using MQL.
