A new attribute named SCIP is added to Materials Compliance Management to define whether the threshold is specific to a SCIP. This
attribute has the value as Yes, Blank. The default value is Blank.
The SCIP attribute is required for:
- During export to chemSHERPA Article Tool 2.02, the Materials Compliance Management need to include the data related to SCIP for
thresholds.
- During the import, the app
verifies, which threshold is required the SCIP information and if the data are missing for
the threshold that is exceeded, the warning message is displayed.
- When a declared threshold for the enterprise part is created and if a threshold is
required the SCIP data, the app includes
the information related to the SCIP attribute.
First Article and Sub-tier Part Export
Export to the chemSHERPA format is updated to include the changes related to the first
article and subtier. To export the data to chemSHERPA format, by default, the Include Subtier
is added. The compliance (Class c) export uses the created declared thresholds and also SCIP
data is included if it is present. The composition (class D) export to chemSHERPA includes 3
levels of parts as Product, Level, and Component.
The following tables describe the details about export criteria for each level and examples:
Table 1. Level and Mapping
Level |
Materials Compliance Management Mapping |
Description |
Product Part |
Top Level Part |
Export selected as EP. If the SCIP data at this
level is present, it is included in the export. |
Level Part |
First article part |
Example 1 (a) First article part is a leaf and a parent is selected as
EP |
Export empty part |
Example 1 (b) First article part is a leaf and no parent |
Export is not supported for this BOM structure and the error message is
displayed. |
Example 2 First article part is a leaf and parent is not selected
EP |
Export immediate parent of the leaf part and if the SCIP data at this level is
present, it is included. |
Example 3 First article part is not a leaf |
Export first article part and if the SCIP data at this level is present, it is
included. |
Component Part |
Leaf part (parent of material) |
Export a part without the SCIP data as chemSHERPA
is not included at this level. |

P1 (1 EA)
- P2 (2 EA) - MEP - Example 1
Where Example 1, refer the Example 1 (a) and (b) from the Level and Mapping
table. |
In this example, the P2 is the first article. |

- P3 (2 EA) - MEP
- Subtier 1 (3 EA)
- Subtier 2 (4 EA) - Example 2
Where Example 2, refer the Example 2 from the Level and Mapping table. |
In this example the leaf part Subtier 2 is the first
article. Note the quantity of Subtier 1 in P1 is calculated. |
