Creating a New IMDS Regulation Version

You can create a new version of a reported or unreported IMDS regulation for an owned Part or Material.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Author, Leader
  • App-specific: Compliance Engineer, Senior Compliance Engineer

Before you begin: View the IMDS Regulations category for a Material, MEP or Supplied Part, or an Enterprise Part. For more information, see IMDS Regulations Category.
  1. Click the required tab (Owned Reach XIV Component, Owned Reach XIV Material, or Owned Biocide Material) that lists the regulations for which you want to provide answers.
  2. In the row for the Material or Component, click Create New Version . An editable version of the tab opens. You can only edit the Answer columns.
  3. Edit the answer columns as required. The dialog box only shows the columns for that type of IMDS Regulations.

    Column Description
    Still In Production? For material rows, choose Yes or No to specify if the material is still in production.

    Shows on the Owned Biocide Material and Owned REACH XIV Material tabs.

    Added For Biocidal Property? For substance rows, choose Yes or No to specify if the substance is added for biocidal property.

    Biocidal Property Desired in Finished Article/Product? Choose Yes or No to specify if the substance is desired in the finished product.

    Product Type Select the IMDS Product Type from the list.

    Only shows on the Owned Biocide Material tab.
    EEA Produced Choose Yes or No to specify if the material is produced in the European Economic Area.

    Shows on the Owned REACH XIV Material tab.
    Produced in/imported into EEA? For component rows, choose Yes or No to specify if the component is produced in the European Economic Area.

    Shows on Owned REACH XIV Component tab.
    Material Imported? For material rows, choose Yes or No to specify if the material is imported.

    Authorization Status For the Owned REACH XIV Component tab, you can edit the material rows.

    For the Owned REACH XIV Material tab, you can edit the substance rows.

    Does not show on the Owned Biocide Material tab.

  4. Click Upload.

The app starts a background job to upload the answers for the IMDS regulation. If the upload succeeds, the app updates the Regulation Release Data and Regulation Version.
