Creating Lattice FEMs

You can create finite element models for lattice designs.

Before you begin:
  • You must have an appropriate role for lattice design
  • You must have a completed lattice design to mesh

About the Lattice Automated FEM Method
  1. From the Automated FEM section of the action bar, click Automated FEM , and select Lattice.
    The Lattice FEM dialog box appears.
  2. From the Mesh type options, specify the dimensionality of the lattice mesh:
    OptionDescription
    1D Meshes a lattice as a one-dimensional pattern.
    2D Meshes a lattice as a two-dimensional pattern.
  3. From the Element order options, specify Linear or Quadratic.
  4. Enter the number of Elements per bar.

    The number of elements per bar in the lattice effectively sets the mesh size based on the size of the lattice bars.

  5. Specify the Threshold.
  6. Click OK.
