About Couplings

A coupling connection joins two supports using either a rigid or a spring-loaded connection behavior.

Defining Couplings

A coupling can be either kinematic, which directly couples edge or face supports to the motion of a reference point, or distributing.

Template Files

When you create a coupling, you can save the coupling definition to a template file. Once you create a template file, you can load the parameters back into the editor when you create other couplings. After you have loaded parameters into your coupling definition, you can edit any of the parameters for that coupling as required. If you edit a template after couplings have been created using the template, the coupling definitions are not updated automatically. To apply the changes, you need to reload the template file into the coupling definitions.
