Line fasteners are used to model the behavior of bodies joined along an edge, such as a welded or bonded seam. You can join part bodies or mesh parts with line fasteners. You can also fasten a part to itself. You can search for potential fastener locations and define a fastener to apply to selected locations from the search results. When you join mesh parts, you can select nonassociative meshes. For example, an orphan mesh or a transformed mesh that does not include related geometry. (For more information, see Orphan Meshes and Creating Transformed Meshes in the Mesh Creation guide.) Template FilesWhen you create a line fastener, you can save the line fastener definition to a template file. Once you create a template file, you can load the parameters back into the editor when you create other line fasteners. After you have loaded parameters into your line fastener definition, you can edit any of the parameters for that line fastener as required. If you edit a template after line fasteners have been created using the template, the line fastener definitions are not updated automatically. To apply the changes, you need to reload the template file into the line fastener definitions. |
