Checking Connections

You can diagnose potential problems with all fasteners in the finite element model.

About the Connection Checker
  1. From the Connections section of the action bar, click Connection Checker .
  2. The dialog box shows a list of the diagnostic tests that can be run. Select the check box for each test you want to run. Clear the check box for any test you do not want to run. For example, you might choose only the following tests:

    Distance from free edge

    Missing material

  3. Click Run Checks.

    The result of each test is indicated with a for success or for a potential problem. Click the expander for any test to see the detailed error descriptions.

    If you single-click on an individual error description, the corresponding geometry (or mesh) is highlighted in the model.

    If you double-click on the error, the corresponding dialog box opens to let you edit the feature.

    You can also right-click on the error and choose Locate or Edit from the context menu.

  4. Optional: You can switch between the default view and a summary table view by clicking the icons in the upper right corner:
    OptionDescription
    Run view (default list of checks).
    Summary view. This table presents a fastener-centric view of the data in which you can see if a particular fastener has failed multiple tests.
