Changing ERP Status

A Manufacturing Engineer or Senior Manufacturing Engineer can activate or inactivate a part in a plant. When a part is inactive in a plant, EBOM changes on the part are not copied as MBOM changes in the plant. An inactive part in a plant can be made active at any time and then the EBOM changes will be copied to the plant as MBOM changes.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Search for and select a part to which a manufacturing responsibility has been assigned.

Change Status

You can change the ERP status

  1. Click the Manufacturing Responsibility tab.
A filter on this page allows you to filter for Current, Current & History, Current & Pending, or All relationships.
  2. Click Edit All from the page toolbar.
  3. Select a plant and click Change Manufacturing Responsibility from the page Actions menu or toolbar.
  4. In the ERP Status column, click the cell you want to change.
  5. Select Active, Inactive, or Unassigned from the list.
This changes the ERP Status of the Manufacturing Responsibility relationship. A pending relationship can be switched without a new CA. Changing a current relationship requires a new CA.
Note: A lead plant cannot be made inactive at any point in time.

Switch to Inactive

You can switch the ERP Status to inactive.

Before you begin:
  • Switching the ERP Status on a non-lead plant refreshes the Manufacturing Responsibility page, showing the status of the selected plant as inactive.
  • If there is a pending active relationship, the system just makes the active Manufacturing Relationship an inactive one and refreshes the page.
  • If there is a current active relationship, the system prompts for a CA to effect in the relationship. The Manufacturing Responsibility page reflects a new pending inactive relationship of the selected plant that is effected in by the specified CA.

Switch to Active

You can switch the ERP status to active.

Before you begin:
  • If there is a pending inactive relationship the system just makes the inactive manufacturing relationship active and refreshes the page.
  • If there is a current manufacturing relationship, the system prompts to enter a new CA, behavior is similar to that of inactivating a plant. The Manufacturing Responsibility page reflects a new pending active relationship of the plant selected that is effected in by the specified CA.
