Synchronizing Links or Relations Using the Synchronization Assistant

You can synchronize a link or a relation using the Synchronization Assistant.

The Synchronization Assistant helps you diagnose link or relation issues as well as identify the conditions under which a link or a relation will be synchronized.


Before you begin: Open an existing product containing 3D shapes with links and relations between them.
  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, click Links & Relations .
    The Edit Links & Relations dialog box appears.
  2. Click Synchronize Link .
    If one or more links or relations cannot be synchronized, the Synchronization Assistant dialog box appears.

    The unsynchronized links are displayed in the upper frame.

    Important:

    When links or relations cannot be synchronized, the Selection Assistant dialog box appears to help you synchronize them.

  3. Select the relation to diagnose the detected incident and display proposals.
    Click (+) to expand the relation and to show additional information that is available for this relation and its links.
  4. Double-click the link, and select items in the list to view the diagnosis.
    In the above example, you must update the component to resolve the relation.
  5. Click OK in the Synchronization Assistant dialog box.
    Relations and links that have been synchronized are listed, and unsynchronized relations detected by the Synchronization Assistant remain unsynchronized.
  6. To synchronize all relations and links, click Update All .
    All relations and links are synchronized.
  7. Click OK in the Edit Links & Relations dialog box.
