By creating a path, you can select unique or complicated data sets. You can use path plots to display results for these data sets. Path plots use the X-Y Plot Viewer to display X-Y plots of field output data from a path. For paths created from node lists or element lists, you first select a part and then specify a label or range of labels. For paths created from point lists, you provide the X-, Y-, and Z-coordinates to define each data point in the path. Optionally, the points composing the paths from the point lists can be aligned with the nearest vertex and defined to follow deformations in the model. You can also create paths from edge lists. You select one or more straight or circular edges to simplify the selection process. Selecting an edge selects all the nodes, elements, or points that compose the edge. When you create paths from edge lists, you can flip the direction of the path passing through any edge. You can create paths on the undeformed or deformed model using all the field variable options available for model plots as your y-axis. In addition, you can use intersections or control the exact number of equally spaced intervals charted between data points. |
