Result Options

Settings in the Result Options dialog box enable you to change behaviors like symbol display and connector display throughout the Physics Results Explorer app.

This page discusses:

General

Hide cut section during robot manipulation Select this option to hide view cuts when you use the robot to change your view of the model.

Symbols

Maximum vector length The length of the arrow representing the largest vector or tensor value. You can specify this setting as Percent of model size or by Absolute size. If you select Percent of model size, you can specify a value between 0% and 200% of the model size.
Resultant Sensors Select Show forces or Show moments to display nodal forces or moments computed at the supports selected for each of the resultant sensors created.
Use constant-length arrows Select this option to display all vector or tensor arrows using the same arrow length.

Connectors

Show connectors Select this option to display all of the connectors included in your simulation. Connectors are rendered with a point or a line, depending on the connector type used. When you enable connector display, you can also select Show labels to display a descriptive label next to each connector, and you can select Show axes to display the local axis used for the connector definition, if any.

SPH Surface

Grid spacing Drag the slider to adjust the density of the grid surrounding the SPH particles. Grid spacing depends on particle density and geometry and is the distance between vertices along X, Y, and Z of the grid. Grid spacing has four settings: Coarse, Medium, Fine, and Extra Fine.
Note: A finer grid provides a smoother surface at the expense of performance in terms of memory and CPU.
Surface value Drag the slider to adjust the density field for which the isosurface is extracted. Surface value varies between 0 and 1; the default is 0.5.

2D Elements

Extrude planar Enter a value in model length units for the starting depth and ending depth relative to the plane. The Depth values you specify determine the magnitude of extrusion.
Note: Model length units are determined when you import the file. You can enter negative extrusion values. Negative values extrude the model in the opposite direction from the normal.
Sweep axisymmetric Enter values to specify the Sweep axisymmetric angle:
  1. Enter the start and end value to define the Angles.
  2. Enter the number of Segments used to construct the angle.
Note: As you change the number of segments, the degrees per segment are displayed.
