Updating Exported Field Data

You can make modifications to preprocessing parameters (such as forces or output requests) in the scenario creation apps, recompute the simulation, and update the field data in the results view.

Update All Exported Field Data Objects Automatically

You can configure the app to update field data objects automatically when modifications to preprocessing parameters have made their data out of date or invalid.

From the top bar, select Me > Preferences, and then click the App Preferences tab.
In the left-hand pane, expand Simulation, and then expand Physics Simulation.
Select Common Result.
In the right-hand pane, expand High Performance Visualization.
Select Auto update tabular field exports.

For all subsequent changes to the simulation that require updates to field data objects, the app will update the objects automatically.

Update Individual Exported Field Data Objects Manually

You can update any individual exported field data objects if modifications to preprocessing parameters have made their data out of date or invalid.

Examine the Tabular Field Export objects in the tree or in the Feature Manager.
The Tabular Field Export objects are overlaid with a mask to indicate those that require updates or are invalid .
Right-click the Tabular Field Export object in the tree or in the Feature Manager, and select Edit.
The Export Field Data appears.
Make any additional changes, and click OK.
Click Update in the Warning dialog box.

The app updates the selected field data object.
