Using the Frame Selector

The Frame Selector dialog box allows you to customize animations, sensors, and envelope data to sample only certain frames and steps.

  1. Optional: Enter a Name for the frame selector.
    You can select the name that you enter here from the Frame selector list when creating animations, sensors, and envelopes.
  2. From the Table tab, select a Mode and double-click a cell to edit its contents:

    Total time Use this option to define a start and end time, independent of step information. Enter values for the Start Time (s) and Finish Time (s).
    Step time Use this option to define start and finish times for each step.

    Enter values for the Start Step, Start Time (s), Finish Step, and Finish Time (s).

    Frames Use this option to define a load case and frame to the step. Enter values for the Start Step, Load Case, Frame, and Finish Step.
    Frequencies Use this option to define a frequency range for each step. Enter values for the Step, Load Case, Low (Hz), and High (Hz).
    Eigenmodes Use this option to define a range of frequency vibrations in an oscillating system. Enter values for the Step, Load Case, Low, and High.
  3. From the Tree tab, select the desired steps and frames.

    Tip: In the Filter field, you can apply a filter to limit your choices to a specific step or frame of interest. The * character can be used as a wildcard.

  4. Click OK to activate your changes and to close the Frame Selector dialog box.
    The Simulation Options, Sensor, or Envelope dialog box remains open.

Only the steps and frames that you selected will be used in the analysis or playback of the animation.
