Importing X-Y Plots

You can import X-Y plots to review graphical historical data without generating new results.


Before you begin:
  • X-Y plot data must exist in a Microsoft Excel workbook or comma separated value file.
  • The data must be saved with the simulation object in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

About X-Y Plots
  1. From the Plots section of the action bar, click Import X-Y Plot .
    The Import X-Y Plot dialog box appears.
  2. Optional: Enter a Name for the X-Y plot.
  3. Click Search to specify the curve that you want to import.
  4. Search for X-Y plot data.

    X-Y plots are stored as VPM documents in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

    1. In the top bar, enter a string in the search field and click Search .
    2. In the Search Results panel, click a X-Y plot to import it.

    The Document field of the Import X-Y Plot dialog box is updated with the search result.
  5. Select Deactivate existing X-Y plots to render the imported plot as the only active X-Y plot in your session.
  6. Click OK to apply your changes and to close the Import X-Y Plot dialog box.
    The X-Y Plots Viewer displays the graph of the data selected.

All imported documents are displayed under the Result container when you explore a simulation object.
